Maxine has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, and through this video she shares her struggles and triumphs as she climbed the educational ladder. 

Maxine is in a unique position of having been on both sides of the mirror, being able to look at education from the standpoint of a child with a disability and a teacher of children with disabilities.

Today Maxine is the Interim Director of The Center for Educational Research and Evaluation at the University of Mississippi.   She also teaches Introduction to Special Education.
